Roland vON Känel

Prof. Roland von Känel is a Specialist (Facharzt FMH) for General Inner Medicine and for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
He is Senior Consultant for Psychosomatic Medicine, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Barmelweid Clinic and Visiting Professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern. At the Inselspital Bern, as a visiting physician of the University Clinic for Neurology, Roland von Känel heads up the research group “Neuro-Psychosomatic Medicine and Stress Biology” at the Department for Clinical Research.
His scientific and academic career in brief: Dissertation at the Haematological Central Laboratory, Inselspital Bern (1992), Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry University of California San Diego, USA (1999–2001), Co-Head of the Laboratory of Behavioural Medicine, Institute of Behavioural Sciences at ETH Zurich (2001–2003); Associate Professor of Somato-Psychosocial Medicine at the University of Bern (2004–2012); Professor of Psychosomatic and Psychosocial Medicine at the University of Bern (2012–2014).
He has published over 250 scientific articles and is co-publisher of a German textbook for psychoendocrinology and psychoimmunology and on the editorial board of three well-known specialist psychosomatic journals. His research is financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation, the US National Institutes of Health and other bodies.

The software boutique DU DA GROUP, founded in 2003, offers custom-tailored solutions in the front-end and interface development field, digital system structures and Business Process Modeling. The core competences of DU DA are in the implementation of mobile applications, ERP-integrated processes and mobile shops as well as webapplications. This also includes the analytical evaluations of the applications and validating concepts, which are gaining increasing significance also in the field of medicine as sources of big data.
